Everyone has a favorite season and mine has always been fall. Now, I have witnessed fall in many different places. Growing up in Kansas, fall was more of a state of mind than a festival of colors. Wheat fields are pretty much the same color year round! Fall in Texas was still just hot and dusty. Fall in Maryland was a little bit colorful, but the very best falls I have ever experienced have been in the mountains of East Tennessee.
Never have I seen such a grandiose display of nature’s beautiful colors! Everywhere you look you are surrounded by the autumn hues of fall and the crisp mountain air just adds to the delightfulness that is fall in the Great Smoky Mountains. Who knew there were so many vivid versions of orange and beautifully metamorphosing greens! The combined beauty of such a myriad of colors is really unparalleled!
