We're not talking dusty and stuffy here.  Kids will enjoy themselves as much as the grownups in our many fascinating museums.  Most are specialty museums, many are state-of-the-art, devoted to subjects as diverse as Cherokee culture or cars or world records or Elvis.  You may even need to extend your stay in your Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg cabin rental to be sure and see it all!!

For any Elvis fan the Elvis Museum is a must.  This museum in Pigeon Forge, TN is the world's largest private collection of Elvis memorabilia.  This 3000 sq. ft. museum includes one of a kind items like "The King's" unforgettable white 1972 Tour Jumpsuit, his diamond watch that's face is surrounded by 26 near perfect quarter caret diamonds, his coin ring featuring a 1865 on dollar gold piece and two of the most famous cars ever seen . . . Elvis' last personal limousine and Elvis and Priscilla's honeymoon Cadillac.

Veterans are sure to be fascinated with the Tennessee Museum of Aviation.  This non-profit institution is the official state repository and archive for aviation history.  It is also the official state Aviation Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame houses many aviation history exhibits, Warbird displays and Honors those Tennesseans who have contributed to aviation and aerospace.

Another very different experience is Parrot Mountain and Gardens.  This unique exhibit is home to over 300 tropical birds.  The grounds are a wonderful peaceful area.  Your walking tour takes you through beautifully landscaped pathways that wind through English style cottages where the birds are displayed.  And what an experience to tour the walk in aviary for a true hands-on experience.

While staying in your Pigeon Forge cabin rental be sure and take a short side trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. This architectural masterpiece boasts 33 bedrooms and 65 fireplaces.  You'll want to explore Americas largest home and walk through the 250 acres of gardens and grounds.  This is truly an escape of everyday life in an American Castle in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Whatever your choice of museum or exhibit you are sure to be captivated.  And remember, don't tell the young folk it's educational.  It'll be our secret.
