And don't be one of those people that forget about the national park.  The Great Smokies National Park is the most visited national park in the country.  With miles and miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, and hundreds of species of wildflowers and vegetation, a hike through the park can be an adventure in itself.  Many hiking trails are moderate so you don't have to be professionally trained to enjoy the surroundings. Other recommended activities in the park include camping, picnicking, sightseeing, fishing, horseback riding, nature viewing, and photographic opportunities.
