The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers hayrides through scenic Cades Cove.  This trip is extraordinary!  You will ride in a hay filled wagon and tour some of the most scenic areas in the park.  The mountains will surround you on all sides with their grandeur.

While seeing the scenery is enough to make the short trip from your Gatlinburg cabin rental or hotel worthwhile, there are added bonuses.  This is the prime spot to view wildlife in their natural habitat.  Cades Cove area is a favorite for our most famous native… the black bear.  The hayrides are taken just before dusk which give you the best chance of catching the black bear at feeding time.  You will see countless deer, as well as other wildlife.

Just a short trip from your Pigeon Forge cabin rental or hotel is the Walden Creek Stables.  They offer a "ton of fun" trip that is free if you are a rider at their stables.  Start at the old western town then load into the hay wagons then you ride out to the bonfire site where you'll enjoy hotdogs, vegetables, potato chips and drinks.  This hayride is only schedules certain days so check for times and dates.  This live western entertainment, local Smokies musical talent, and a large open bonfire to boot make for a really fun evening.  Trick riding, music and over 50 free roaming horses make this an adventure that all ages will love.
