The Adventures of Chris and Wendie — Part One

Chris and Wendie have been married for 15 years and have a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old, both of whom are active in sports and various other activities. Chris and Wendie live in East Tennessee, both work full-time and have found that quiet time alone has become a rare commodity. Chris and Wendie love their busy lives, but dream of a weekend away from responsibilities. Chris and Wendie don’t have the time or money to go on an elaborate, long-distance vacation, but crave some time together, just the two of them. So, Chris and Wendie planned a romantic weekend get-a-way in Pigeon Forge

Although a vast array of entertainment options were available, they decided to rent one of the cabins in Pigeon Forge, choose just one attraction and spend the rest of the weekend together in childless, phoneless, e-mailess, responsibilityless bliss. They set about planning their “Great Romantic Getaway Cheap Vacation.” They searched the Internet and found a quaint, secluded Smoky Mountain cabin through Eden Crest Cabin Rentals. On a bright and sunny Friday afternoon, they dropped the kids with the grandparents and set out.

After a beautiful drive through the Smoky Mountains they arrived, settled into their Pigeon Forge cabin and stood in awe and silence marveling at the peace, quiet and serenity. They spent a quiet evening together enjoying the homey cabin and decided to dub this their second honeymoon! Saturday morning they set out for their “one attraction” — the newly opened Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. (Stay tuned for their adventures at the Titanic!)

After returning from the Titanic, they spent the rest of their weekend in their Pigeon Forge cabin rekindling their marriage and enjoying the simple pleasure of time alone together. When the time came Sunday afternoon to pack up and return home, they did so with renewed peace.

Chris and Wendie had been rejuvenated and relished the thought of returning to the blissful chaos of their everyday lives. Chris and Wendie knew they had stumbled onto a great thing. Chris and Wendie began to make plans for “ The Second Annual Great Romantic Getaway Cheap Vacation.”
